An open letter to Prof Wole Soyinka

An open letter to Prof Wole Soyinka
Sir,
I pondered over your lashing and name calling on the Ndigbo over the night and my memory sent me back to those good old days in school when you visited UNIBEN and we the exco members of the Union hosted you to some bottles of Star lager beer alongside other goodies at Precious Palm Royal. While we talked over a lot of things relating to education, we gained some knowledge no doubt as we looked at you as an icon whose fountain of academic prowess was unequaled.

Going by the present happenings in the country lately and your contribution to National issues, I have paused to x-ray some focal point of your judgment on topical issues and this has made me wondering if truly this was the man I chased my precious sleep for in order to be with him on that fateful day at PPR in Benin-City Edo State.
You first labeled GEJ as a murderer who should be held responsible should anything happen to your son in-law governor Rotimi Ameachi of Rivers State, you accused GEJ of so many things that never came to bear, all these were embedded with political undertone and unfounded reasons for hatred.
As an elder whose baggages are already at the departure lounge, Nigerians expects that; rather than stir up the political turbulence that is raging boisterously, (as peace is the only panacea we hoped and prayed for) you should mediate and proffer solution where necessary and not pitch tent with anybody
You didn't stop there, during the last general electioneering campaign, you said any Nigerian that voted for Buhari should have his or her brain re-examined and that only those whose memories need calcification will opt in the ethnic and tribal bigot general as president.
(Even though the latter accusation was right and of course some Yoruba land truly need their brain re-examined as almost of them voted for him) But one will be forced to ask; which side is Professor Wole Soyinka standing?
Could it be as a result of old age? But blessed Professor Chinua Achebe was quite a reasonable old man whose activities in his last days were never associated with any mischievous controversial enterprise.

During the last general electioneering campaign, you said any Nigerian that voted for Buhari should
have his or her brain re-examined and that only those whose memories need calcification
will opt in the ethnic and tribal bigot general as president

Your supposed educated but illiterate shameless Oba Akiolu insulted and threatened the Igbos should they vote against his wish, now you openly called the Ndi-Igbos names and labeled them with hateful and disdain emblem which will remain a reference point in the near future. Prof why?
The Igbos have been treated with all forms of acrimony especially in the Northern region but they on their part, have continued to be receptive to the Hausas and Fulanis in their home soil without considering their brothers that are silently being slaughtered especially in Kano. For their peaceful disposition, many of them returned home during the last election for fear of the unknown. Not that they can't stand any eventuality. If you are skeptical about this claim, ask the Fulanis and the Hausas in Kano their sordid experience when they tickle them in time past, they will tell you they wished they never dared the Igbos.
The Fulanis and other tribes voted according to their conscience which is APC and nobody accused or call them names. Condescending so low with your mountain of exposure and intellectualism just to ridicule a quiet and industrious tribe of this Nation is nothing short of premeditated hatred which has finally found a landing space through your lips.
With all these sir, I don't want to believe that we over rated your capacity as a noble laureate.
MY PASSIONATE APPEAL:
Do not awaken the lions and tigers in the Ndi-Igbo because they are warriors and they have a general habit of always preparing for the unknown should the bell of war jingles.
Do not contribute to the disintegration of this country with your unguarded utterances that is currently enjoying a fragile peace because of a truth, almost all the tribes in this one-sided country called Nigeria are tired of living in a pretentious hut as one Nigeria.

The Fulanis and other tribes voted according to their conscience which is APC and nobody accused or
call them names. Condescending so low with your mountain of exposure and intellectualism just
to ridicule a quiet and industrious tribe of this Nation is nothing short of premeditated
hatred which has finally found a landing space through your lips

Need the Ndi Igbo remind you that they will embrace any avenue to achieve their long awaited freedom from this contraception that was as a result of corruption from the British expeditionists which tailored wrong brides and grooms together at the sacrificial altar of abused marriage of 1914?
And may I also remind you, of which you will bear me witness, that Lord Lugard admitted in his last days that the greatest mistake he made in his life time "was to have forcefully amalgamated the southern and Northern protectorate". Hence, Ndi Igbo will give you millions of reasons and why it is justifiable for them to flee from your hateful habitation should their Biafra agitation land softly on their pursuit.
Lastly, Ndi Igbo, rather than matching your insult with insults, extends their many thanks to you for reminding them that they have to be very close to each other ever than before and look out for themselves anywhere they are, having being considered a powerful threat to this Nation called Nigeria. I can assure you that your words of lashing out on them are rather seen and taken as advise and they will indeed work on their lapses.
