The folly of attacking Radio Biafra and suppressing Biafrans

The folly of attacking Radio Biafra and suppressing Biafrans
Better to be Attacked/Slandered Than Ignored.
"It is a common mistake to imagine  that to be attacked is somehow bad. Nothing could be further from the truth. You must not discriminate between different types of attention; in the end, every kind will work in your favor." - Robert Green (48 Laws of Power).

Various agencies of the Nigerian government  and its mainstream media have recently intensified attacks on Radio Biafra. In the coordinated attacks, the corrupt media houses are hoping to use propaganda to intimidate the Radio Biafra into silence.

However, the media attacks rather than hush up the radio station, has energised it especially with the inadvertent free publicity the media houses has granted it in the past couple of weeks. The truth being disseminated from the fiery Radio Biafra has a magnetic effect on first-time listeners who eventually get hooked up to the station. 'Yours truly' was hooked through a negative publicity launched against Radio Biafra  last year or so.

Nnamdi Kanu the director of Radio Biafra and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) long foresaw this moment when every Nigerian newspaper will be writing about him and the Radio Biafra. He longed for it because he understands that any form of publicity is good publicity, which would help in propagating the message of freedom.

In addition to freely advertising Radio Biafra, the Nigerian propagandists parading as journalists which had for years feigned oblivious of the radio station have through their flawed attacks on free speech confirmed every allegation the radio station and indeed Biafrans have leveled against the Nigerian government.

Biafrans hold the following fundamental arguments against Nigeria:

  1. Nigeria is an illegal construction of British colonialists, which did not consult the different nationalities before merging them into an unworkable union,
  2. Therefore, Biafrans need no permission from anyone to seek their freedom,
  3. Biafrans and other nationalities share divergent values, culture, language and religion that oppose each which has resulted in a grossly retrogressed Nigeria,
  4. Based on the opposing value systems of the various nationalities Biafrans have been intimidated, treated like second class citizens and perpetually oppressed by the Hausa-Fulani and Yorubas who have dominated governance in Nigeria,
  5. That Biafrans have continued to be marginalised and undergone untold hardship imposed by deliberate policies of successive Nigerian governments,
  6. As a result there was need for Biafrans to seek their freedom in order to look after themselves,
  7. That each time Biafrans attempt to gain their freedom from Nigerian oppression they are targeted and massacred,
  8. That Biafrans are not even allowed to know their history or voice out their concerns against oppression as has amply been demonstrated by Nigerian mainstream media and broadcasting regulation body,
  9. Having come to the conclusion that Nigeria holds no future for them, Biafrans will have to exercise their inalienable rights to seek freedom in whatever way they deemed effective
These are key issues largely being expressed on Radio Biafra. Instead of Nigerian government and media to respond to these issues or possibly call for a referendum to sort this out, they chose to intimidate Biafrans by labeling them terrorists.

That is where the stupidity lies. How could you label someone who is known to have never committed any crime or act of terror as a terrorists?

Or are they trying to say that the truth of the illegality of Nigeria being revealed from the Radio Biafra is terrorising them?

Only a cheat and a bad person is afraid of truth.

For years Biafrans had no mouthpiece with Yorubas and Hausa/Fulani dominating Nigeria's mainstream media. Whereas the BBC Hausa service (and the recent addition - Arewa TV) are covering the interest of northerners by broadcasting in Hausa language, the Radio Biafra chose to propagate the message of freedom in a universal language that would reach the ends of the earth. No terrorists would like all his secrets to be learnt in every corner of the earth. Only the person with the truth is not adverse to such publicity.

Radio Biafra stands for freedom and oppressors are terrified of it.

The least expected of Nigerian governments and its corrupt brown-envelop journalists is for them to come up with  superior arguments backed up with facts, countering the various allegations leveled against the Nigerian government.

Intimidation, victimisation and oppression of Biafrans can only end up calcifying the arguments of Biafransin the minds of the international community.

In the latest attack, Premium Times did an editorial titled "The Menace called Radio Biafra", where the newspaper ratcheted up the weary propaganda against Biafrans by continuing with the overused comparison of Radio Biafra to Radio Rwanda and Boko Haram.

In response to the publication a die-hard Biafran Ama Edu compiled a few series of question puncturing Premium Times' warped logic.

Biafrans demonstrated their zeal for freedom during the 2015 Biafran Memorial ceremony
In the rejoinder titled "The Phenomenon (not menace) called Radio Biafra – Questions Requiring Urgent Answers" Ama Edu posed the following questions:

1. Is Nigeria a COUNTRY or a NATION?

2. If radio Rwanda evoked genocide in 1994, which radio evoked the genocide of Igbos from 1944 to 1970?

3. If Radio Biafra preys into animosities and prejudices, who committed these animosities and prejudices?

4. Does Premium Times editorial board, in their wisdom, prefer to kill radio operators and set the war criminals free? No wonder all war criminals are at the helm of affairs in Nigeria, for more crimes.

5. Who deserves to be called bloodcurdler, the killer or the killed?

6. If Nigeria is defined by ethno-national diversity, does this reflect in her political and administrative life or are there in her educational or economic policies?

7. Can Premium Times and their likes help educate the public by comparing and contrasting Mohammed Yusuf and Radio Biafra? And stop misinforming the public.

8. If Nnamdi Kanu is ensconced in the comfort of Europe, can Premium Times tell the public which is more endowed, Europe or Africa (especially Nigeria)?

9. If you say that those non-supportive of Radio Biafra are destroyed, could you please tell the world what was said about anyone that turned out to be UNTRUE?

10. If you allege that Radio Biafra extort money and materials from her listeners, could you make such extortions known to the public?

11. If Nigeria has bitter history of carnage on a tragic scale, who are the victims of this tragic scaled bitter history? Biafrans of course.
12. The UNJUST STRUCTURE of Nigeria which you have now realized, how many times have they appeared in your editorial since you began with Premium Times?

The world awaits for your reply oh ye PREMIUM TIMES OF NIGERIA.

If you stand a chance to advise the government of Nigeria, please convey to them that FREEDOM FOR BIAFRA is the best that can happen to Africa and the world.

What Biafrans seek is no different from what Catalans and Scots are seeking from Spain and Britain respectively and yet they have never been attacked or refereed to as terrorists.

His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
